Directed by Riccardo Freda. Hmm, weird, this one: A highly obscure Israeli/Italian/German/Spanish co-production directed by one of the Italian horror masters of old. Since the "Onan" character is indeed that naughty guy you've read about in The Old Testament it'll come as no surprise that the film is a religious erotic drama. And a very good one too!

According to IMDb it was originally made as a Tarzan film, but because of legal problems they had to change the characters name to "Taur". I find the story a little hard to swallow, since Taur (Joe Robinson) is acting more like a peplum hero than Tarzan, throwing around boulders, breaking chains and bending bars etc. While not as homoerotically charged as the sequel WOMEN GLADIATORS this film is still fairly kinky for it's time. Lots of hot girls with big tits and hairy armpits (!). The very impressive footage of an exploding vulcano at the end of the film is for once not stolen from "The Last Days of Pompeij", so the budget must have been pretty high. Filmed in former Yogoslavia.
