Disaster footage from THE LAST DAYS OF POMPEI was recycled for the grand slam finale that also, in what appears to be a political comment, has evil emperor Nero slain at the stairs of the New Colliseum built by Mussolini during the Fascist reign!!

Directed by Giuseppe Vari, starring Anthony Steel, Daniella Rocca et.al. Historically dubious, but exciting story of the decline of the Roman Empire. Steel makes a fine hero, but it is the beautiful, voluptious Daniella Rocca who steals the show as the willstrong sister to the Emperor. Adding to the fun: two kinky whipping scenes; the second turning into sado-masochistic lovemaking (I wonder if Mario Bava took his inspiration from this film for his s/m masterpiece THE WHIP AND THE BODY!).
